About Wubba's BBQ Shack:
“It took Aaron and I a few years to make it happen,” remembers Travis, co-owner of Wubba’s BBQ Shack. The brothers, Aaron and Travis had both worked in the service industry and were looking for a place to develop their own brand of BBQ, a unique take on classic Kansas City style. “Opportunity presented itself right here in our hometown,” says Travis. The brothers returned home and secured the location at 1745 Austin street. It was an immediate success, bringing customers that desired easy access and fast service.
Wubba’s BBQ Shack was catering within 2 months of opening their Austin street location. Their first event was for 20 people. Today, Wubba’s BBQ Shack has the ability to provide catering for up to 2000 people! “There’s no shortcut to authentic barbeque,” they swear. The authentic stuff is cooked, “low and slow,” claims Aaron.
In December of 2008, Wubba’s BBQ Shack opened, with full-service family friendly cuisine with extended hours for the convenience of nearly anyone’s schedule.
It’s a family affair. There was a lot of research involved to develop the Webb brother’s recipe. But Travis will tell you it is his brother who is the smokemaster. “I book it, he cooks it.”
